Operating Committee for
Research and Extension (COIE)
The Research and Extension Operating Committee formulates and implements strategies to guarantee the academic quality of the activities of the research groups and centers, as well as of the work teams that develop extension activities at the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
The Research and Extension Operating Committee is formed, for ordinary sessions, by the Vice Rector of Research and Extension, the Coordinator of Programs and Projects, the Director of Knowledge Transfer and the Directors of Research and Extension of the Faculties.

Responsibilities
.The research and extension operating committee has the following responsibilities:
- To participate actively in the formulation and execution of programs and projects of institutional order, related to research and extension, articulated to the management plan of the university.
- To implement and follow up on the strategies and programs formulated by the research and extension council.
- To establish the terms, coordinate the execution, evaluation and allocation of internal calls for support for research and extension activities.
- To provide opinions on the suitability of research proposals submitted to national or international organizations, taking into account the political, ethical, environmental and social responsibility guidelines of the institution.
- To contribute in every way to the consolidation of a culture of institutional research and extension through the formulation of contributions to the policies, strategies and programs foreseen for this purpose.
