ORDHS studies socio-environmental interactions that limit or favor well-being and sustainability. It carries out research and extension projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 1 (end poverty), 3 (Health and well-being), 6 (clean water and sanitation), 8 (decent work and economic growth), 11 (Sustainable cities and communities) and 15 (life of terrestrial ecosystems).
ORDHS reflects on the relationships between research and intervention from the perspective of Social Work, aiming to find solutions to the needs, conflicts, and socio-environmental problems. These efforts are based on evidence and incorporate territorial, differential, gender, and rights-based approaches.

Services
- Construction of systems of socio-demographic and socio-environmental indicators.
- Conducting studies within the research lines declared by the ORDHS.
- Organization of academic events.
- Providing advice, consultancy, and support in the formulation, evaluation, and monitoring of social policies, plans, programs, and/or projects related to social and socio-environmental development.
- Systematization of experiences.
- Monitoring and tracking of SDGs 1, 3, 6, 8, 11, and 15.
- Research and extension projects aligned with the ORDHS research lines.
