Academic Planning seeks to support, advise and train the Academic and Administrative Units in the academic planning processes in accordance with the Institutional Mission, Objectives and Policies, making sure that these respond to regional and national needs.

• To support the formulation of the objectives and goals of the academic development of the Institution.

• To coordinate the processes of academic restructuring of the University.

• To provide technical assistance to the academic units of the University, in the administrative and financial aspects, to undertake the processes of academic development: creation, qualified registration, opening, extension, accreditation, modification, reform or suspension of academic programs.

• To review and give an opinion on the administrative and financial viability of academic programs in their creation, extension or modification in accordance with institutional policies and regional and/or national needs.

• To promote training programs in the formulation and management of development projects and academic restructuring.

• To lead or participate in the working groups in charge of developing the academic planning process designated by the Superior Council, the Academic Council and the Rector.

• To participate in the continuous improvement of the academic planning process and its support tools.

• To collect, review, organize, analyze and publish statistical information of an academic, research, economic, social and other nature, to support the formulation of plans, programs and projects for the academic development of the Institution.

• To keep the University updated with respect to national and international educational projects and to suggest the participation of the Institution in them.

• To analyze and design academic orientations and policies requested by the University’s management.
