Call for Applications
Upon the completion of the current rector’s term on May 8, 2025, the Superior Council of Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), in a session held on March 11, 2025, issued Agreement 007, approving the call for applications for the selection process of the UIS Rector for the 2025–2028 term.
Additionally, in its session on Monday, March 17, 2025, the Academic Council will issue an agreement outlining the procedures for verifying the requirements and evaluating the academic merits of applicants for the position of UIS Rector for the 2025–2028 term.

Candidate Process
The registration for the call for applications for the position of UIS Rector must be submitted via email to the General Secretariat of the University at sgeneral@uis.edu.co, starting at 8:00 a.m. on March 19 and closing at 4:00 p.m. on March 28, 2025.
Applicants for the position of Rector must express their free and informed decision to register as a candidate for the selection process and submit the following documents:
- Curriculum vitae, along with any supporting documents deemed relevant to demonstrate compliance with the required qualifications and criteria.
- Proposed Management Plan.
- A passport-size color photograph.
- A letter designating a personal delegate, who will act as an observer during the rector selection process. Members of the Superior or Academic Council may not serve as observers.
- A sworn declaration stating that the applicant is not subject to any constitutional or legal disqualifications or incompatibilities.
Similarly, as established in the General Statute of the University, modified by Superior Council Agreement No. 006 of March 11, 2025, the minimum requirements and qualifications that the Rector of Universidad Industrial de Santander must meet are as follows:
- Be an active Colombian citizen.
- Hold a postgraduate university degree at least at the level of a master’s degree or a medical-surgical specialty.
- Have had direct ties for no less than five (5) years with the university sector, either as a professor, researcher, in leadership positions, or as a participant in governing bodies.
- Have no less than ten (10) years of professional experience as a university professor, in the productive sector, or in public service.
- Demonstrate contributions to science, technology, culture, or social development.
