Minciencias Classification : B

The FIRST Research Group is dedicated to generating scientific knowledge and training high-quality personnel through collaboration and exchanges with other institutions, contributing to the scientific and industrial development of the country.

Initially, the FIRST Research Group will utilize the space and equipment of laboratory 309 at the EDI Research Center in Guatiguará, which houses a rheometer (Anton Paar 302) with parallel plate geometries, a cone and plate, and a magnetorheological cell. The group also has access to an Ansys Fluent license, recently renewed with the support of the Schools of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Comsol Multiphysics software is available for simulation purposes.

On the other hand, at this initial stage, the research projects will have the support of an integrated laboratory service of the School of Chemistry. However, other teams of relevance to the group’s research, such as a colloidal mill, a tensiometer, etc., will be managed before the university’s directives for acquisition or through research projects.
