Our
Mission
Develop basic and applied research that has an impact and impact on communities affected by natural phenomena or anthropicactivity.
To offer permanent support and motivation to the members of the group, in the sense of promoting their continuous scientific training.
Publish and publicize the results of research and establish and maintain exchange mechanisms with national and international peers.
Present presentations at national and international events that refer to the group’s research findings.
Organize and lead national and international events on topics related to the research lines declared by GIGBA.
Contribute to the consolidation of a modern analytical center to carry out research based on the use of different microscopy techniques.Contribute to the consolidation of a material synthesis laboratory to carry out the transformation of raw materials into application materials in the solution of environmental problems.
Contribute to the process of consolidation of the litoteca of the School of Geology for the storage of geological materials from different regions of our country.
Our
Vision
In 2020 GIGBA will be recognized for the quality and relevance of its research based on continuous interaction with other research groups at national and international level. It is also intended to consolidate a modern analytical center to support both research in the different fields of Geosciences and the development of academic undergraduate and graduate processes. The research group is committed to the provision of services and consultancies, as well as to the formulation and implementation of mining-environmental development policies at the departmental and national levels. As a consolidated research group, with a highly qualified human resource and adequate infrastructure, it is projected over time as a Geoscience Research Center.
