Minciencias Classification : A1

CIBIMOL develops scientific studies about the relationships between the chemical structure of natural or synthetic substances and their properties and activity. Through the study of the latter, the group explores potential applications of substances in medicine and biotechnology, as well as in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries, among others. The group aims to be in the capacity of developing all the stages of synthesis or search, isolation, characterization, testing, and production of bioactive substances, natural or synthetic, with potential application in medicine, biotechnology, cosmetics, veterinary, agriculture, or in different branches of industry.
