ABOUT THE

Program

The Master in Applied Mathematics of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) has Mathematical Modeling as its object of study, which is understood as the set of equations that define, through equations or logical-computational structures, the evolution of a real system.

Its purpose is to observe the phenomenology of a system in order to extract its characteristics and provide an adequate model to describe in time and space its most relevant aspects.

Starting from a convenient formulation that describes the state of a system, the analysis of mathematical models provides solutions to the problems under consideration. This type of study requires the development of methods that may vary for each type of model.
