Student Advisory, Support, and Follow-up (PASE)

The purpose of the Student Advisory, Support, and Follow-up Program (PASE) is to implement activities that intervene promptly in the risk factors affecting undergraduate students of the School of Industrial and Business Studies. Actions generated by PASE, as a supportive space for academic, social, family, emotional, and/or psychological needs, aim to mitigate mental health indicators, reduce academic setbacks, and contribute to the comprehensive development of students and the enhancement of graduates’ professional profile.

Center for Industrial Engineering Studies - ACEII

Center for Industrial Engineering Studies (ACEII) is an organization that has brought together students from the School of Industrial and Business Studies at the Industrial University of Santander for many years. It began in 1959 as a group of students and professors interested in promoting the emerging field of Industrial Engineering in Colombia.

Mission: ACEII is a nonprofit organization that fosters the development of its members through spaces and alternatives that promote their physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential during their university journey.

Vision: In the next five years, ACEII will be a student organization that drives and promotes processes of change in its academic and business environment. It will be self-sustainable and generate intellectual wealth for its members while providing quality services to the university community of the Faculty of Mechanical-Physical Engineering.

Semiosis

Semiosis Laboratory of the School of Industrial and Business Studies, Universidad Industrial de Santander, UIS

SemiosisLab Innovation Laboratory of the School of Industrial and Business Studies at the Industrial University of Santander was established in 2014 as a continuous learning environment that aimed to strengthen the creative confidence of Industrial Engineering students at UIS and promote distinctive learning experiences through the solution of organizational challenges using the most advanced tools in innovation management, Design Thinking philosophy, and the scientific rigor that characterizes the University. In this sense, SemiosisLab has become a space with a multidisciplinary approach that builds on applied science and continuous interaction with the environment and the global innovation ecosystem. Its models have been used by universities, communities, companies, entrepreneurs, and public organizations interested in accelerating personal and organizational innovation processes to generate economic and social value. SemiosisLab provides unique learning experiences for UIS students who wish to participate in these challenges.

Galea

Galea Laboratory is a specialized facility dedicated to the creation and application of innovative learning experiences, with a focus on fostering comprehensive education in all aspects of the human being.

Mission: Galea Laboratory contributes to the comprehensive education of students from different levels and academic programs at the Industrial University of Santander. They achieve this through the implementation of disruptive and innovative teaching and learning methodologies, workshops, conferences, reading clubs, training activities, educational research, and the simulation of real-life scenarios. Their approach is based on creativity, inclusion, cooperation, teamwork, and enjoyment.

Vision: Galea Laboratory aims to become a nationally recognized institution for the promotion, application, and transfer of innovative teaching and learning methodologies in various fields of knowledge. They strive to enhance individuals’ motivation towards learning. The laboratory is supported by a diverse and multidisciplinary team comprising students, teachers, and researchers who possess creative, proactive, and divergent thinking skills. Additionally, they leverage the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to support their endeavors.

Quality

The laboratory enables students to apply practical methods, techniques, and tools of statistical quality control aimed at identifying causes and taking action for the improvement of organizational processes.

Industrial Hygiene

The School of Industrial and Business Studies invites you to get to know its Industrial Hygiene Laboratory, which is available to its students and the educational community. General shot of a group of people watching the exhibition made by two women.

The laboratory aims to provide training through practical exercises focused on the assessment of specific risk factors in the work environment. In various scenarios and using the necessary instrumentation, students apply their theoretical knowledge to evaluate the conditions of noise, lighting, thermal comfort, and ergonomic conditions in five different workstations.

Design and Simulation of Production Systems

Automation Laboratory of the School of Industrial and Business Studies of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, UIS.

Design and Simulation of Production Systems Laboratory aims to provide a space where teaching and learning processes in the Industrial Engineering program can be enhanced through practical hands-on experience and scaled simulation of industrial processes. It specifically focuses on topics related to the Design of Production Systems, Industry 4.0, and industrial automation.
