In the Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering we offer programs of academic excellence. Our graduates, the product of a comprehensive education, have the ability to design shared solutions to address national priorities and global challenges focused on social cohesion and community building.

ABOUT THE

Faculty

.

The Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering has been consolidated in eastern Colombia, with an undergraduate offer with six engineering programs (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Systems) and the Industrial Design program. It also has a varied postgraduate offer in different areas of knowledge, supported by research groups. In recent years and in accordance with the University's Development Plan, the Faculty has taken on the challenge of expanding the training coverage offered by its schools, with the creation of new academic programs.

History

Since 1948, with the foundation of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, the programs of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were created. Over the years, the academic offer of the faculty was expanded, strengthening the training of professionals in the country. Since 2007 and in accordance with the University's Development Plan, members of the Faculty of Physical Mechanical Engineering have taken on the challenge of expanding the coverage of their schools with the creation of new postgraduate programs. Today the Faculty has consolidated its three missionary functions Teaching- Research and Extension through academic and scientific strengthening.

The Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering, adhering to the principles, mission and institutional policies, promotes synergy and the development of the affiliated schools, recognizing and valuing the differences and potentialities of each of them, as well as the strengthening of the relationship with the productive sector of the region.

Vision:

The Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering will be recognized in the national and international environment for excellence in the development of its missionary functions of teaching, research and extension. Its academic programs of all levels will have high quality distinction and an innovative and comprehensive pedagogical model that educates to interpret and face the challenges of the world, as a strategic partner of the region.
