BIVL2ab is mainly dedicated to solving problems related to visual information, ranging from the acquisition and analysis of medical images to the compression of complex spatio-temporal patterns in the general context of computer vision. These issues are very diverse and challenging. Therefore, it is essential to propose learning strategies to differentiate meaningful behaviors from the observed data and to model prior expert knowledge into robust representations. In this way, we contribute to the training of professionals in Systems Engineering, Mathematics and related areas, as well as to the consolidation of future researchers in the region, through the support that the group provides to the Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering and Computer Science, the Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics and the PhD in Computer Science of the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
