GISEL will be a leading research group at national level and will be recognized by Minciencias as a research group with high quality standards. The group will stand out for analyzing and implementing new technological developments for the generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electric energy, always keeping in mind the identification of the needs of the electric sector and the Colombian society.

It will be composed of highly qualified researchers who will support the technological development projects of the doctoral theses of PhD candidates; the research work of Master of Engineering candidates in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and related areas, and the undergraduate work of students of Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering.

The group will have an adequate physical infrastructure (offices, classrooms, simulation laboratories) as well as equipment and accessories to facilitate the appropriate performance of its members and the development of associated research.
