Program

The School of Industrial Design (EDI) presents the Technological Specialization in Product Development, code SNIES 109034, which focuses on manufacturing processes and prototypes, and provides professionals, technologists and entrepreneurs, the only graduate program in the Northeast region focused on product development, which meets the requirements of the demanding markets.

Applicants to the Technological Specialization in Product Development are professionals or technicians with a broad vision of the design and conceptualization process of new products, with intermediate knowledge in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software as instruments to define concrete design concepts to solve specific problems in their fields of action. They also stand out for their ability to join multidisciplinary groups, to diagnose and propose solutions, to participate in the execution of projects and for their critical and proactive attitude to face the problems of our society.

The Technological Specialist in Product Development will be an integral professional with solid theoretical and practical knowledge based on an excellent training in methods, techniques and RP and RT technologies used during the ideation and definition phases of the product development life cycle. They are highly qualified to:

  • Employ RP and RT technologies in new product design and development processes.

  • Formulate creative, successful and cost-effective design strategies to meet market needs.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
  • UIS registration form duly completed and signed.
  • Resume, it has to be done in the UIS format established institutionally for this purpose, with the attachment of the certificates and copies of documents that corroborate what is described in it.
  • Photocopy of valid identity document valid in Colombia or valid passport for foreigners.
  • Recent document type photo, preferably in digital format, white background 3×4.
  • Photocopy of the diploma or photocopy of the undergraduate degree certificate required by the program, issued by a recognized HEI in Colombia.
    • Notice 1: If the applicant has a degree from a foreign university, it must be duly apostilled and translated into Spanish if it is in a foreign language. The degrees must be validated by the Ministerio de Educación Nacional de la República.
  • Certificate of the grades obtained in the undergraduate program required by the program, including the weighted average.
    • Notice 2: In the case of UIS undergraduate alumni, it is not necessary to provide this document.
  • Receipt of payment issued by the UIS treasury for the current value of the registration or receipt of consignment in the account authorized by the UIS.
