Liliana María Carrillo

Liliana María, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program, is a researcher, social and digital entrepreneur, networker, and international speaker, and a TEDx speaker. With more than 20 years of experience in the ICT sector, she focuses on R&D projects and is an ambassador for various educational, social, and blockchain projects, post-blockchain, and artificial intelligence projects related to technology for good social impact. Her personal mission is to raise awareness about methodologies and technologies that can enable our collective intelligence, improve our society, and increase our sense of responsibility in our communities.

Her role as a woman in science is highlighted, and in the development of her profession, she has used her scientific knowledge in social, gender equity, and social entrepreneurship issues. In 2021, she was among the 5 nominees for the “ICT Woman of the Year 2021 Belgium” award. Watch her TEDx talk here.

Graduate

Ana Milena Gualdrón Díaz

Systems Engineer Ana Milena Gualdrón Díaz, has returned to her alma mater commissioned by Ministerio de Educación Nacional (MEN) to integrate the UIS Superior Council, the highest governing body of the institution.

For over 14 years, she has been affiliated with the Ministerio in the Subdirectorate of Support for Management of Higher Education Institutions (IES). Among her professional achievements is the management of the Quality Management System under the technical standard NTGPC1000, among other management projects in the university. Along with UIS, she worked on a project on financial management in IES. Additionally, she is working on the construction of the Good Governance Policy in Education, which is projected to be promulgated this year. Ana Milena has also been delegated by the MEN to the Superior Councils of the National Open and Distance University (UNAD), Antioquia, Valle and Technological Units of Santander (UTS). Cesar Augusto López Gómez

César Augusto, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program, is a professional with extensive experience and knowledge in information technology and digital evolution, logistics and supply chain operations, and shared services, supporting multicultural talent through transformation, innovation, and best practices, generating business growth in an environment of development, collaboration, and continuous challenges.

He has worked in leading national and multinational companies in sectors such as education, agribusiness, consumer goods, telecommunications, chemicals, commerce, and construction, holding positions such as General Manager, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Colombia and Latin America. Graduate

Pedro Julio Uribe Bermúdez

Pedro Julio, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program and current Global Market Development Director for the Americas at Microsoft, was awarded the ‘Distinguished UIS Graduate’ for his professional career where he has supported the digital transformation of Colombia and Latin America, strengthening the empowerment of citizens and contributing to the preservation of the environment.

His significant contribution to the sustainable development of Latin America and the Caribbean through technology is highlighted, for which he has worked with important international and multinational organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organization of American States, the World Bank, the United Nations, and the Development Bank of Latin America – CAF, among others, promoting projects such as: POETA (Program of Opportunities for Employment through Technology in the Americas) with the OAS aimed at creating technology centers for people with disabilities, now extending centers to young people, and NEO (New Employment Opportunities) with the IDB and other private companies to create one million jobs for at-risk youth in Latin America.
