The School of Geology has defined as a fundamental purpose the integral training of geologists in the cognitive, ethical, political and social aspects, capable of working in interdisciplinary teams.

Our desire is to achieve ever higher quality standards, according to the needs of modern society and industry, and evolve in line with scientific and technological advances and meet the needs of the business and industrial sector, promote improvement and training of their human resource, and to advocate for the modernization of laboratories.

World Museum Rocks and The World of Minerals

This exhibition has 40 different types of rocks, including sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous, and additionally has 48 varieties of minerals, all exhibited so that the university community and the general public can go to the facilities of the Jorge Bautista Vesga building on the first and third floors.

Bulletin

The Geology Bulletin was founded in 1958 by Geologists Jaime De Porta and Manuel Julivert. In this same year the first issue of the journal appears, whose mission has been the dissemination of knowledge in the geosciences. The Geology Bulletin, the scientific journal of the School of Geology of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, is a quarterly publication of international circulation dedicated to original and high-quality studies in the field of Geosciences. Its purpose is to disseminate the scientific work of national and foreign researchers, serving as a means of expression and exchange of intellectual productivity, to contribute to the material and social progress of the country.
