The experience gained in the research field during nearly seventy years of undergraduate program operation in Metallurgical Engineering, in addition to his postgraduate degree in Materials Engineering, has given the School of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science a leading position in the national and international environment. This leadership is based on: active and permanent linkage with the national and international academic and scientific community; the establishment and continued strengthening of agreements with industry, universities, and other institutions; as well as the formation and development of research centres and groups.
