The Research Group on Regional Development and Territorial Planning (GIDROT), affiliated with the School of Economics and Administration, is an interdisciplinary group that has conducted socio-economic, historical, and environmental research with a regional focus. As a result, it is one of the research groups supporting the Master’s program in Economics and Development. GIDROT has developed technical studies and indicators to shape scenarios of regional integration, with knowledge about Development being a fundamental objective. This approach is grounded in theoretical and methodological frameworks, incorporating political, economic, social, historical, and cultural idiosyncratic aspects from a holistic and comprehensive perspective.

EXTENSION
Services
Research and consultancy services for regional development projects in social, economic, historical, and environmental fields.
Design and implementation of projects, programs, and public policies.
Specialized advisory and consultancy services for public entities responsible for developing development plans, land-use planning, watershed management plans, and micro-basin plans, among others.
Advisory services for private organizations and companies interested in regional and local development.
Development of research capacity for professors and students in the field of human sciences.
Support and development of the Young Researchers project within the Group’s research lines through research internships.
