about the

Program

The philosophy career of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) arises in the late 90s, as a programmatic proposal of a group of professors of the Faculty of Human Sciences of the UIS who sought a greater interrelationship between knowledge and sub-disciplines that, from the faculty, would strengthen the academic project of the University. In addition, there was a pretense of raising awareness among Santander citizens of the importance of philosophical studies for the development of a more critical and universal culture. It was initially conceived with a scientific-technological emphasis, but later oriented itself towards research in philosophy, becoming its first purpose.
