The road to
Excellence
The Department of Internal Medicine began its history in 1966 in the Hospital San Juan de Dios in Bucaramanga. In 1967, with the beginning of the work of the Faculty of Health, the Department took on a university character. In 1973, it moved to the current building of the Ramón González Valencia University Hospital.
To date, the Department of Internal Medicine of the Universidad Industrial de Santander has been responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, academic and clinical research, community outreach programs and the care of highly complex patients at the Hospital Universitario de Santander.
