The School of Microbiology of the Universidad Industrial de Santander focuses its mission on the undergraduate and postgraduate training of upright citizens, with high human, ethical, scientific, communicative and investigative qualities; Committed to social transformation, development, generation and transfer of knowledge in life sciences, human and animal health, industrial, agricultural and environmental biotechnology that promote the quality of life of individuals and society.

Vision:

A The School of Microbiology is conceived with a future perspective, with a holistic vision and educational projection, aimed at its ethical, social, scientific and technological development committed to the Institution, the region and the country.
It ensures its academic excellence with the offer of undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the highest level of training that promote the updating and dissemination of universal knowledge, and generation of new knowledge, maintaining permanent communication with academic, scientific, governmental and industrial communities of national and international character.

It strengthens the sense of social relevance by maintaining a critical vision, providing sustainable and innovative solutions to problems related to human and animal health, industrial, agricultural and environmental biotechnology, supporting regional, national and global needs and giving advice to its graduates, public and private corporations that require it.

It guarantees the continuity of its mission, updating the offer of academic training according to scientific and technological advances in its different fields of performance and in response to regional and global needs.
