The Center for Research in Tropical Diseases (CINTROP), aims to know the population structure and vector capacity of peridomiciliary and wild triatomines; perform genetic and biochemical characterization of strains of parasites and viruses; know the susceptibility of triatomine strains to current and new drugs; evaluate new chemical compounds as drug candidates against leishmaniasis, trypanosome and other agents; to know the susceptibility of triatomines to new formulations of insecticides under laboratory and field conditions; identify risk factors for yellow fever urbanization and identify areas of high dengue transmission in Santander.
