The main objective of the Pharmacology and Metabolism Research Group – FARMET is to strengthen biomedical research applied to the study of chronic non-communicable diseases of high morbidity and mortality in the Colombian population. It seeks to understand the involucrated regulatory mechanisms and explore therapeutic alternatives for these diseases, thus contributing to their diagnosis, prevention, management of complications and improvement of quality of life.  The group formulates and executes research  proposals in antioxidant chemotherapy, metabolic reprogramming, pharmacological and toxicological  evaluation of natural and synthetic molecules, bioanalysis of drugs in food products,  genetic studies of complex diseases and molecular markers in type 2 diabetes,  among others.
