The changes that have occurred in the world regarding medicine have led different groups to consider modifications in medical education and in one of its basic components such as research. This is how medical schools are initiating, with different degrees of progress, curricular changes, inspired by increasing or improving social relevance, the ability to learn, the ability to use free time, the level of clinical competence, especially the process of clinical reasoning, ethics, integrality, and management capacity in different areas, through the fundamental aspect of generating research questions, which arise in medical performance, or during their pre and postgraduate training, with the purpose of seeking questions, solutions, or alternatives searching for what a true learning means, projected in service to the community to which it owes and belongs; then arises the group for the educational renewal of Internal Medicine as a leader in the transformation of teaching-learning processes and as a strengthener and mediator of the processes of research and science in the adult health of the individual of our region, our country and its interrelationship with the rest of the world.
