Research groups and their recognition by Minciencias are strategic initiatives that promote the disciplinary development of Nursing through the generation and consolidation of new knowledge. These groups provide opportunities for participation by professors, professionals, and students in addressing social needs and advancing the profession. In 2005, the UIS School of Nursing established the GRINFER Research Group, which was officially endorsed by Colciencias and UIS in 2007. The group participated in the most recent call for the consolidation and evaluation of research groups and is currently classified in Category B. The group comprises full-time faculty, adjunct professors, and undergraduate and postgraduate students. Its research lines include four main areas: Quality and Management in Health, Health Care, Disciplinary Development and Nursing Process, and Training of Human Talent in Health.
