ABOUT THE

Program

The Specialization program in Internal Medicine of the School of Medicine, from the Faculty of Health of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) began in 1982 being a pioneer in the northeastern region of Colombia.

The excellence of this postgraduate course is reflected in the professional quality of the UIS Internist Physicians, who perform with the luxury of competencies both in Colombia and in other countries. Many of our graduates have a second specialty, carried out in reputed national university centers, where they are quickly accepted for their academic skills. They are leaders in their fields of specific professional knowledge, as well as in the teaching, administrative, and trade union fields. As a result of excellent preparation carried out in our Alma Mater, they are currently in full exercise of their work as interns or subspecialists.

The specialization program in internal medicine is based on clinical reasoning that reflects the way of thinking, proceeding, and making decisions when faced with a health problem that in our institution ranges from advanced adolescence to the elderly, “always seeking the integrality of patient care.”
