DENIAL OF

Transfer

The Admissions Committee may deny transfer for any of the following reasons:
  • Modified by Agreement No. 080 of 2011. The applicant for a place in the transfer modality must certify, for the respective study of the application, that in the university of origin the applicant has obtained a cumulative weighted average equal to or higher than 4.0 and a Pass Rate equal to or higher than 0.90, according to the UIS calculation system.
  • The number of quotas to be assigned to this admission modality, according to the capacity and availability of the same in each academic program it administers.
  • When the number of Academic Work Units accepted constitutes less than 30% (thirty percent) or more than 70% (seventy percent) of those required to obtain the corresponding professional degree at UIS.
  • When the transfer is requested for a program different from the one the applicant is enrolled in.
  • When the medical examination for admission proves illness or physical or mental impediment that prevents him/her from performing normally in the community.
  • When the applicant’s personal record of conduct does not guarantee a good performance at the University.
  • When the applicant has not obtained a score in the state exam, equal or higher than the cut-off score of the last admission process, in the career to which he/she is applying”.

PLEASE

Note

  • The program of study to be pursued at UIS is the same as the one being studied by the person requesting the transfer.
  • The objectives, content and duration of the programs are equivalent to those developed at UIS.
  • UIS has availability of places in the career and level requested.
  • Students coming from foreign universities, who wish to make use of the right to transfer at UIS, must also process the homologation of their studies directly with the university in accordance with the provisions of Article 62 of Law 962 of July 8, 2005.
  • Once the Admissions Committee receives the transfer request, it will send it to the Coordinator of the respective career for the equivalency study. The Coordinator will have two (2) weeks to return it to the Admissions Committee with the applicant’s opinion.
    • Please note: Equivalencies will not be granted to courses whose objectives, content and duration are lower than those established by the University in the respective academic program”.
  • All transfer acceptance by the Admissions Committee must be ratified by the Faculty Council corresponding to the degree program.
  • Once the applicant is authorized to enter, by transfer to the UIS, applicant will not be able to request new equivalencies for subjects not accepted.
  • Upon approval of the transfer, the accepted courses will be noted on the student’s resume. The students will take their first academic period at UIS regardless of the level of study in which the applicant is placed, without a cumulative weighted average. The cumulative weighted average after that first period will be calculated on the academic results obtained by the student at UIS. The cumulative weighted average for purposes of incentives and conditionality will be calculated taking into account only the subjects taken at UIS.
