Public Call

The call for candidates to expand the pool of eligible candidates for distance and virtual education tutors, aims to select people with a high sense of belonging and institutional commitment, hired by the University to perform teaching functions, with a level of personal, professional and ethical excellence, oriented to the achievement of the Vision, Mission and Institutional Objectives. The tutor performs the function of subject direction on a temporary basis and is linked to the UIS through a special labor contract, for a maximum duration of one academic semester.

It is necessary to specify that the bank of eligible candidates allows the programs to have a list of people who meet the requirements to be hired as tutors for the academic programs. It does not imply an immediate linkage, but they will be called as the needs of the programs.

Essay submission:

The appraisal of the essay will be carried out for those applicants who pass the stages of review of requirements and evaluation of the resume. This essay must be prepared taking into account the following guidelines and on the dates established in the schedule of the call for applications.

Essay Context: Distance education is understood as that modality in which the formative experiences occur, for the most part, without requiring attendance in a specific physical space. That is to say, “distance” regularly refers to that spatio-temporal separation between the educational agents (administrators, students and tutors). For this reason, the characteristic of this modality has been the use of different means to support learning, the construction of knowledge and to carry out the processes of accompaniment and follow-up. This modality contemplates the development of synchronous meetings, some of them in-person modality.

On the other hand, in the virtual modality, maximum use is made of online technologies, so that asynchronous activities have a strong presence, and synchronous meetings are conducted online (educational agents can be anywhere). Thus, and in the context of these modalities, it is clear that, for theoretical tutorials, priority is usually given to the development of synchronous activities mediated by ICT.

As for the pedagogical mediation strategies, it can be assured that there are several alternatives such as: simulation, the investigative seminar, the four-step method, the didactic operative model, teaching through cognitive conflict, teaching through directed research, the educational workshop, teaching based on analogies, teaching for understanding, among others.

Thematic: For the purposes of this activity, select one of the subjects of the profile to which you wish to apply, as well as one of the pedagogical mediation strategies indicated above. With this, you will be asked to write an argumentative essay related to a formative experience, specific to the selected subject, where aspects that may have in common and others that differentiate them between a synchronous tutoring mediated by ICT and a in-person (synchronous) tutoring, developed in the context of the same subject, will be evidenced.

  • The argumentative essay should be sent in PDF format, be between 700 and 1000 words, with Arial font size 11, 1.5 line spacing and margins 2 cm x2 cm x2 cm x2 cm x2 cm (representing an approximate length of 2 pages).

  • It must be declared the subject of the postulated profile that you are using as a basis in the construction of the essay.

  • If you are applying for profiles from different academic programs, you must submit one essay for each program. If you are applying for profiles from the same academic program, you must submit only one essay.

  • The criteria to be evaluated are: Organization, coherence and relevance, Use of language, Argumentative and creative capacity, Currency of the concepts addressed, Updated reference to the bibliography.

The essay must be submitted in PDF format by clicking on the “Essay” button.

Explanatory notes

  • A person can apply to several profiles of a program, if he/she considers that he/she meets the requirements of each of them.

  • If the applicant chooses to enroll in two or more programs, separate registrations must be made for each program. In this condition it is clarified that, for each program, a resume and its supports must be submitted.

  • The documents submitted by the applicants on the established dates will be the only ones to be taken into account in the evaluation process. The university, by decision of the Deputy Academic Director of IPRED, may require the correction of defects of simple form in the documents provided, during the stage of reception and verification of documents.

  • Incomplete resumes are not accepted.

  • The University reserves the right to verify the information provided by the applicant in the resume.

  • The call for the headquarters and CAES, is directed to professionals who reside in these municipalities or their areas of influence. This condition does not apply to the subjects declared as virtual within the profiles of the Pharmacy Regency Technology program.

The entire process of the call for applications is based on Agreement 105 of 1999 and Resolution 1915 of 2009.
