Created by Agreement No. 031 of June 16, 2016 of the Superior Council of the Industrial University of Santander, attached to the Vice-Rectory for Research and Extension, whose mission is to coordinate, advise, promote, formulate, support and execute interdisciplinary projects and programs of strategic action for local, regional, national or international development, implementing an articulated and collaborative work scheme taking advantage of the current capacities of the 5 faculties s, 27 schools, 84 groups and 4 research centers of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS).

The provision of its services seeks:

• Propose solutions to the main problems of local, regional or national development, based on scientific, creative and collaborative thinking.
• Promote, structure and execute interdisciplinary projects and programs of strategic action for local, regional or national development; in collaboration with the different academic administrative units of the university or with other institutions of higher education.
• Execute the agreements or contracts formulated or agencyd by the IdEAD, in coordination with the different administrative academic units of the university, related to the strategic lines.
