All those interested in participating in the admission process to the in-person modality undergraduate academic programs offered by the Universidad Industrial de Santander, must comply with the following requirements:

  1. Having passed the eleventh grade or being in the eleventh grade.
  2. Having taken the Saber 11º State Examination as of 2017.
  3. Certify a minimum score of 31 points in each of the tests that make up the State Exam: Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social and Citizenship, Natural Sciences and English.

Attention 1: For applicants exempted from the English test, according to Article 1 of Decree 34 of 1980 of the Ministerio de Educación Nacional, only the scores in Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social and Citizenship, and Natural Sciences will be taken into account.

Attention 2: Applicants to the Bachelor of Music program must submit additional requirements that can be consulted in the "Bachelor of Music" button located below this section. .
Those who, even if they comply with the above requirements and if they do so,

their registration will be disqualified, shall not be able to register:

  1. Those already enrolled in any Academic Program of studies at UIS.
  2. Those found with a disciplinary sanction in force at UIS.
  3. Those who have lost their student status for poor academic performance (PFU) on more than one occasion.
  4. Those who aspire to the same study program from which they were excluded due to poor academic performance or have not renewed enrollment in said program.
  5. Those who have initiated without concluding studies, more than one Academic Program at UIS. "No person may study at UIS more than two undergraduate programs". Article 5, Agreement 16 of 2008 of the Superior Council.

Attention 3: In case of being admitted, the student who obtained his high school diploma abroad or its equivalent, must submit the validation of the degree to the Ministerio de Educación Nacional, if you have not completed the process, please access the following link Convalidations in Colombia.

The applicant is warned that the use of fraudulent means of any kind in the enrollment and/or admission process disqualifies him/her for a period of 5 years to be enrolled and/or admitted in any academic program of the University, without prejudice to any criminal sanctions that may be applicable (Agreement No. 017/95 of the Superior Council).

Applicants belonging to an indigenous community or indigenous reservation
  • Certificate issued by the authority of the applicant's native community, where it must be stated that the applicant is an active member of the community or indigenous reservation.
  • Certified proof that the indigenous authority and community or reservation are registered in the registry of the Directorate of Indigenous Affairs of the Ministry of Interior and Justice.

Applicants from black, Afro-Colombian, Palenquera and Raizal populations. 
  • Certificate issued by the authority of the community council or grassroots organization representing the applicant's native community, where it must be stated that the applicant is an active member of the Black, Afro-Colombian, Palenquera or Raizal Community.
  • Certificate certifying that the community councils, grassroots organizations and authorities of the black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquero communities are registered in the National Registry of the Directorate of Affairs for Black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquero Communities of the Ministry of the Interior and Justice.

Additional requirements San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina Archipelago

EIn the case of applicants from the Raizal community of the Archipelago Department of San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina, in addition to meeting the above requirements, the applicant must submit:

  • Certificate of study, issued by the educational institution, which must belong to said department, stating that he/she is in the last grade of academic training.
  • Attention 5: If you have completed your high school studies, you must present your graduation diploma and degree certificate.

Applicants coming from departments where there are no higher education institutions.
  • Certificate of neighborhood issued by the competent local authority (Mayor's Office, Secretary of Government or Locals Prosecurtors Office).
  • Certificate of study, issued by the educational institution, which must belong to a department where there are no Higher Education Institutions, in which it is expressed that applicant is studying the last grade of academic formation. In the case of having completed their high school studies, they must present their respective graduation diploma and degree certificate.

Applicants coming from municipalities with difficult access or public order problems.
  • Certificate of neighborhood issued by the competent local authority (Mayor's Office, Secretary of Government or Locals Prosecurtors Office).
  • Certification of studies, issued by the educational institution, which must belong to a municipality of difficult access or with problems of public order, where it is expressed that the candidate is studying the last grade of academic formation. In the case of having completed their high school studies, they must present their respective graduation diploma and graduation certificate.
  • In the case of applicants coming from municipalities that are difficult to access, they must demonstrate their condition by means of a certificate issued by the mayor of the municipality or the authority delegated for such purpose; those coming from municipalities with public order problems must present a certificate issued by the competent local authority (Mayor's Office, Local Prosecutors Office or Police Headquarters of the jurisdiction).

Applicants who, as a result of Colombia's internal armed conflict, are classified as victims.
  • Certificate issued by the Special Administrative Unit for the Attention and Integral Reparation of Victims or the entity that takes its place in accordance with the provisions of the law, which certifies that the applicant was classified as a victim according to Article 3 of Law 1448 of 2011, or the law that modifies, adds or replaces it.

Perform the following process:

  • Identity document extended to 150.
  • Subpoena to ICFES Saber 11° tests or results of the Saber 11° exam as of 2017, ALL areas that make up the exam must certify a minimum score of 31 (thirty-one) points.
  • Voting Certificate, if the age applies, this document is not mandatory.

Selection Criteria for

Academic Programs

The selection of applicants will be made according to the weightings assigned to each test of the Saber 11º State Exam for the different academic programs (See Table No.1), as established in Agreement 222 of 2014 of the Academic Council, taking from highest to lowest the scores obtained until assigning the available quotas.

The University has as a criterion for admission to the programs offered, the academic performance of the applicant, evaluated by means of the Saber 11º State Exam.
