Editorial function

• Contribute to positioning the Industrial University of Santander as an academic, scientific and cultural organization of excellence, through the publication and dissemination of the intellectual production of professors, students and cultural actors in the region and the country.
• Support scientific, technical, cultural and social development, promoting the intellectual production of the UIS community, the region and the country.
• Contribute to the achievement of high levels of quality of the editorial process, in the light of institutional guidelines, and in coherence with national and international valuation standards.
• Create mechanisms that guarantee the availability (visibility and accessibility) of your publications.
• Support human talent, facilitating the dissemination of knowledge that arises within the University in the dynamics of science and culture, and promoting the recognition of researchers and cultural actors in the region, nationally and internationally.

EDITORIAL

Activities

• Edition, publication, promotion and distribution of books with UIS Editions seal. The seal identifies the university’s own publications that undergo an evaluation process and guarantees that they comply with the policies and procedures established in the edition manual.
• Publication of works without editorial seal. Also called “other publications” because they do not meet the evaluation process set out in the editing manual, but are the property of the UIS.
• Publication of pedagogical support material.
• Management of the ISBN for publications with UIS Editions seal and other publications.

Universidad Industrial de Santander, through the Editorial Committee, evaluates and makes decisions on the publication of the works submitted for consideration and in accordance with the procedure established in the edition manual.

It is made up of the rector or his permanent delegate, the academic vice-rector, the editor or head of the Publications Division, and a representative of each of the faculties of the UIS.
