Our
Mission
Develop an interdisciplinary research line in biochemistry and microbiology through the generation of applicable knowledge and the establishment of international cooperation in the fields of biocatalysis, microbiology, and applied biochemistry.
Create and develop a scientific, technical, and operational infrastructure that enables the application of biochemistry and microbiology to solve problems and seize opportunities in the revaluation of biological resources, as well as in environmental and pharmaceutical fields.
Promote the education and training of students, scientists, and technologists in biochemistry and applied microbiology through research and development projects.
Strengthen relationships between the Research Group and potential stakeholders by developing research projects aligned with its research lines.
Integrate biotechnological activities into urban society and rural communities.
Contribute to increasing the productivity of regional industries by providing appropriate technologies and methods for the sustainable use of local biological resources.

Vision
To be a leading research group in biochemistry and microbiology, fostering the training of highly skilled professionals, advancing scientific and biotechnological production, and maintaining a highly specialized physical and technical infrastructure. The group aims to provide advisory, technical, and specialized information services in applied biochemistry and microbiology, establishing strong connections with the productive sector, society, and rural communities through Research & Development programs and education in biochemistry, industrial microbiology, and biotechnology.
