Contribute to the formulation of public policies on essential competencies for education, the world of work and the exercise of citizenship, in the context of the information society, in coherence with the country’s Development Plans.
Describe and understand everyday learning practices in the context of the information society and derive elements for their transformation, in the context of the information society.
To build knowledge through interdisciplinary dialogue on the place of education and the new roles of teachers and students in the information society.

Group Challenges
To influence public policies related to the development of essential competencies, or key competencies, in the population in order to respond competitively to the challenges of the information society.
To strengthen the Latin American ALFIN Network through research production and the visibility of achievements in this regard. To provide relevant knowledge on students’ learning practices in the information society.
To understand the cultural variables that mediate the practices of teachers and students and their relationship with the beliefs about information and the roles attributed to learners in this context. To generate proposals for transforming teaching and learning practices in the information society.
Contribute to the formulation of instruments for the evaluation of competencies.
To train teachers for the construction of learning environments that contribute to the development of informational competencies in formal education contexts. To develop information and digital literacy proposals from an emancipatory perspective.
