Group Goals:
- Contribute to the formulation of public policies on essential competencies for education, the workforce, and active citizenship within the context of the information society, in alignment with the country’s Development Plans.
- Describe and understand everyday learning practices within the information society and identify elements for their transformation.
- Build knowledge through interdisciplinary dialogue on the role of education and the evolving roles of teachers and students in the information society.

Group Challenges:
- Influence public policies related to the development of essential or key competencies in the population to competitively address the challenges of the information society.
- Strengthen the Latin American ALFIN Network through research output and the visibility of achievements, providing relevant insights into students’ learning practices within the information society.
- Understand the cultural variables that influence the practices of teachers and students, and their relationship with beliefs about information and the roles attributed to learners in this context, in order to generate proposals for transforming teaching and learning practices in the information society.
- Contribute to the formulation of instruments for competency evaluation.
- Train teachers in the creation of learning environments that foster the development of informational competencies within formal education contexts.
- Develop information and digital literacy proposals from an emancipatory perspective.
