The Research Group in Agricultural Sciences and Ecology (GICAE) develops research projects aimed at generating technologies for the agricultural sector. GICAE is constituted by an interdisciplinary group with faculties to generate research and technologies that maximize their capabilities, thus allowing the approach of areas with high potential in the region such as: agricultural production, the provision of ecosystem services, ecotourism, renewable energy generation, among others; prioritizing strategies that allow maintaining the food sovereignty of communities, the integration of production systems, the care of biodiversity and the environment and the mitigation of climate change.

The research group has the necessary tools for applied research and is constantly innovating in the search for technologies that allow the fulfillment of its institutional mission. Currently there are laboratories, permanent plots established in different forests, agreements with productive properties and natural reserves of the civil society that allow a greater approach in each of the lines of research.
