About
The Unit
The Planning Department is in charge of institutional planning in accordance with the mission, objectives, and policies established by the Superior Council, the Academic Council, and the Rector. This department promotes the dissemination, promotion, and consolidation of a continuous process of integration and participatory planning. It advises and trains all university departments in the planning process. It is a technical unit and the support and consultation body of the university management. Advise the rector on the equitable distribution of physical and logistical resources.

Duties
- Advising and supporting institutional planning, within the horizon of the Mission, Objectives and Policies established by the Superior Council, the Academic Council and the Rector.
- Providing and reporting to internal and external entities of the University the required information and conducting studies that contribute to institutional decision making.
- Coordinating the Institutional Planning related to the Budget and Management Program, oriented to the different Units of the University.

Overview
In 1958, by agreement of the Board of Trustees on January 23, 1958, the position of Head of the Planning Department was created, and Dr. Antonio Michaeler was appointed as of February 1, 1958. The Planning Unit appears in the organizational structure as an advisory unit of the University Management.
