It guarantees the right to education with criteria of equity, quality, and effectiveness, aimed at shaping honest, competent, and responsible citizens, capable of building a happy, fair, productive, competitive, and supportive society that is proud of itself.
It oversees the health and social protection system in Colombia through policies for health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and insurance, as well as intersectoral coordination for the development of policies on the social determinants of health. Its work is guided by the principles of efficiency, universality, solidarity, equity, sustainability, and quality, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the health of Colombia’s inhabitants.
It designs, adopts, and guides public policy on labor issues to help improve the quality of life of Colombians. Its purpose is to guarantee the right to decent work through the identification and implementation of strategies for job creation and formalization, respect for fundamental labor rights, promotion of social dialogue, and social security for old age.
It coordinates macroeconomic policy; defines, formulates, and executes the country’s fiscal policy; influences economic, governmental, and political sectors; and manages the Nation’s public resources from a budgetary and financial perspective. This is carried out through transparent actions, competent personnel, and efficient processes, with the aim of fostering: conditions for sustainable economic growth, the stability and soundness of the economy and the financial system; the strengthening of institutions; support for decentralization; and the social well-being of citizens.
It promotes national interests by strengthening and diversifying the geographic and thematic scope of foreign policy and fosters ties with Colombians living abroad.
It formulates, coordinates, and evaluates policies that promote the competitive, equitable, and sustainable development of agricultural, forestry, fishery, and rural development processes, with criteria of decentralization, dialogue, and participation, aimed at improving the living standards and quality of life of the Colombian population.
It is the governing body of the Colombian cultural sector and its objective is to formulate, coordinate, implement, and oversee State policy on cultural matters. It is an organization that acts in good faith, with ethical integrity, and in compliance with current regulations for the benefit of the community and its own officials. The Ministry of Culture advocates for a creative Colombia that is mindful of its memory, where all citizens are capable of interacting and cooperating with opportunities for creation, enjoying cultural expressions, under conditions of equity and respect for diversity.
It oversees compliance with the Constitution, the laws, judicial decisions, and administrative acts; promotes and protects human rights; defends the public interest and monitors the official conduct of those performing public duties. The Auditoría General de la Nación contributes to the transformation, streamlining, and modernization of the bodies established for the oversight of fiscal management, by promoting the principles, purposes, and duties of the administrative function enshrined in the Political Constitution, fostering a culture of self-control, and encouraging citizen participation in the fight against corruption.

The Gobierno Digital Policy is the National Government’s policy that promotes public digital transformation. This public policy seeks to strengthen the Citizen–State relationship by improving service delivery by entities and fostering trust in the institutions that make up public administration and the State in general, through the use and leverage of ICTs.

Transparencia por Colombia is a non-profit organization created in 1998, whose mission is to “lead, from civil society, the comprehensive fight against corruption and for transparency, in both the public and private spheres, to promote active citizenship, strengthen institutions, and consolidate our democracy.”
The Departamento Nacional de Planeación is an Administrative Department that belongs to the Executive Branch of public power and reports directly to the Presidency of the Republic.
