The Laboratory of Organic Synthesis (LSO) is a research group attached to the UIS School of Chemistry, which started its activities in 2004. The work of the LSO is focused on the development of research in the area of organic synthesis, with topics of interest for heterocyclic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. 

The research group contributes to the development and internationalization of Colombian science. Likewise, it fosters the research spirit of young people, allowing them to develop their undergraduate, master’s and doctoral theses as members of the laboratory.
