Our
Mission
The Laboratory of Organic Synthesis (LSO) is a research group attached to the UIS School of Chemistry, which started its activities in 2004. The work of the LSO is focused on the development of research in the area of organic synthesis, with topics of interest for heterocyclic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
The research group contributes to the development and internationalization of Colombian science. Likewise, it fosters the research spirit of young people, allowing them to develop their undergraduate, master’s and doctoral theses as members of the laboratory.

The main objectives of the LSO are: to contribute to the development of the UIS Master’s and PhD programs in Chemistry; to strengthen the group through the permanent incorporation of new teachers-researchers, and to promote the creation of an interdisciplinary center in collaboration with other Colombian groups and universities.
