CIBIMOL develops scientific studies about the relationships between the chemical structure of natural or synthetic substances and their properties and/or activity. Through the study of the latter, the group explores potential applications of substances in medicine, biotechnology and in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, among others. To this end, it takes advantage of the cooperation between professionals from several disciplines in the research and development of methods of isolation, synthesis, chemical and biochemical analysis, structural characterization, simulation of structure and properties, and evaluation of biomolecule activity. This research seeks to strengthen the scientific and socio-economic development of the country, through knowledge contributions, the creation of new products and methodologies, the training of new specialized professionals, the consolidation of the Doctorate program in Chemistry and the scientific-technological support to companies of diverse nature and size, by means of consultancy and specialized training courses
