The PROMETEO research group created in August 2002 and later recognized in 2012, has oriented its work framed in the mission and vision of the School of Social Work of the UIS and of the same profession of Social Work, hence the line of Disciplinary Construction of Social Work, is oriented to contribute to the theoretical and conceptual development of the profession and thus contribute to continue its transit discipline; in this line of research, efforts have focused on the development of research on professional training, epistemological foundations and methodological development as the foundation of the profession.  Likewise, works on identity, curriculum and history of Social Work have been addressed. The result of this work has allowed the research group to present papers at international English-speaking events specific to the profession and that impact the global academic community.
