The Pain Study Group (GED) aims to develop basic and clinical research aimed at deepening the mechanisms involved in pain perception and modulation, as well as in the validation of evaluation and diagnosis methods. Determine the frequency and factors associated with pain in the population, to formulate proposals aimed at promoting health, preventing deficiency and disability. Validate methods of physical physiotherapeutic intervention aimed at pain management.
The Pain Study Group (GED) was formed in 2001, operates at the Universidad Industrial de Santander and is led by physiotherapist Esperanza Herrera Villabona, MSc, PhD., in Physiology. He is registered in Colciencias, in the area of knowledge Health Sciences and as a secondary area in basic sciences.
