The GLOTTA research group considers didactics to be one of the pillars of teacher training. The members of the group ensure that research in the disciplinary areas (linguistics, literature, and languages) strengthens the didactic reflections typical of the training of teachers in the northeastern region of Colombia.
The research group began its academic activities at the end of 2009. As of 2012, the group promoted the research hotbeds and internal quality processes to obtain recognition from the MinCiencias and the UIS Vice-rector of Research.
GLOTTA has hotbeds led by specialists in the areas of didactics, discourse and image analysis, literature, cultural studies, and translation. Likewise, it carries out permanent training activities that are published in its journal L. The group has started its social projection activities at the UIS Library and in public schools which have an internship agreement with the Language School.
