Potential

Beneficiaries

Colombian professionals admitted to any of the research master’s programs and medical surgical specialties offered in this call that are listed in numeral 6 and who have not started studies.

Research

Masters

The financing for each beneficiary will be for a maximum period of two (2) years and for a maximum amount of EIGHTY MILLION PESOS M / CTE ($ 80,000,000).

The following items will be financed:

Tuition payment support: a maximum amount of TWENTY MILLION PESOS M/CTE ($20,000,000) for the two (2) years. The remaining tuition money for the program will be subsidized by the University for the same period.

Monthly support: Being full-time dedication programs, support will be granted for the maintenance of the beneficiary for a value of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS M / CTE ($ 2,500,000) for up to 24 months, that is, a maximum total of $ 60,000,000.

Medical Surgical

Specializations

LThe financing for each beneficiary will be for a maximum period of three (3) years and for a maximum amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX MILLION PESOS M / CTE ($ 126,000,000)

The following items will be financed:

Tuition payment support: a maximum amount of THIRTY-SIX MILLION PESOS M/CTE ($36,000,000) for the three (3) years. The remaining tuition money for the program will be subsidized by the University for the same period.

Monthly support: Being full-time dedication programs, support will be granted for the maintenance of the beneficiary for a value of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS M / CTE ($ 2,500,000) for up to 36 months, that is, a maximum total of $ 90,000,000

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must be admitted to one of the programs associated with the focus to which the proposal is presented and not have started studies.

.

  • Corresponding registration form duly completed.
  • Resume, in an institutionally established format for this purpose (Annex 1), with the annex to the certificates and copies of documents substantiating what is described therein.
  • Copy of the valid identity document in Colombia or valid passport for foreigners.
  • Recent photo type document, preferably in digital format.
  • Copy of the diploma or copy of the undergraduate degree certificate required by the program, issued by a higher education institution recognized in Colombia. If the applicant has a degree from a university abroad, it must be duly apostilled and translated into Spanish if it is in a foreign language. The degrees must be validated before the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Colombia in case the applicant is going to pursue a master’s degree in the area of health, law or another that is regulated by national regulations that make this administrative act enforceable.
  • Certificate of the grades obtained during the undergraduate, with mention of the weighted average. In the case of undergraduate graduates at the Universida Industrial de Santander, it is not necessary to provide this document.
  • Receipt of payment issued by the treasury of the Industrial University of Santander for the current value of registration or receipt of consignment in theaccounts authorized by the UIS.
  • If the advisory committee determines as a requirement the approval of the reading comprehension and written production test in Spanish, present the certificate of approval issued by the UIS Language School. The value of the test is not included in the registration fee for the graduate program.
  • Two (2) academic reference letters, confidential, in sealed envelopes, sent directly to the postgraduate coordination, according to the form established by the Industrial University of Santander that will be provided by the academic-administrative unit to which the master’s program is assigned.
  • For research master’s degrees, certification of foreign language level equivalent to or higher than level A1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, according to standardized test or issued by the Institute of Languages of the UIS. This certification will not be required of applicants who speak a native foreign language or who have obtained a university degree in a foreign language, as described in the relevant documents.   • Receipt of payment, issued by the treasury of the UIS, for the current value of the psychotechnical test or receipt of consignment in the accounts authorized by this same university, in the event that the Advisory Committee of Graduate Programs of the academic-administrative unit has decided to present said test.
  • In the case of research master’s degrees, a letter of endorsement from a group or research center of the UIS or from a scientific institution with which there is a current agreement, signed by the director of the same, and in which the applicant is presented to the program. The letter of endorsement consists of the commitment of the issuer to support the research work of the applicant and to contribute to the strengthening of the conditions for the development of the degree work. The Postgraduate Directorate will establish the model letter of reference for this requirement and send it to all postgraduate coordinators; this model may be adjusted to the needs of each postgraduate program, by the Advisory Committee of Graduate Programs of each academic-administrative unit, provided that what is expressed in these regulations is not detrimental.

For the call

Within the deadline established in the schedule, candidates must submit the documents in a single PDF file created in the following order:

  1. Registration form duly completed(Annex 2).
  2. Letter signed by the applicant in which he declares under the gravity of oath that he does not incur in any of the disqualifying conditions listed in numeral 5 of this call (Model candidate letter, Annex 2).
  3. The documents that allow verifying the enabling requirements described in numeral 5 of this call, as described in the Table 3.

4. Research proposal: It corresponds to a text in which the applicant presents, in a concise manner, the research that will be carried out in the development of their studies of surgical medical specialization or research master’s degree associated with any of the six foci prioritized by the Department of Santander.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF

Research proposal

.

Research proposal:

It corresponds to a text in which the applicant presents, in a concise manner, the research that will be carried out in the development of his studies of surgical medical specialization or research master’s degree associated with any of the six foci prioritized by the Department of Santander.

The proposal should be submitted considering the following sections:

  • Presentation page: Title of the proposal, name of the candidate, identity document number of the candidate, postgraduate program to which he is admitted and strategic focus of the Santander Department to which the postgraduate and the proposal are associated.
  • Posing the research question.
  • Justification.
  • Conceptual Framework.
  • General objective.
  • Specific objectives.
  • Research methodology.
  • Expected results and outputs of the research.
  • Contribution of the proposal with the strategic focus of the department of Santander.
  • Scientific technical support. This information should inform the following:

a) Name of the research group that supports the proposal, current classification (according to the results of Call 894 of 2021 of Minciencias), synthesis of the conformation and trajectory. Include the consultation link in GrupLac and present in annex the letter of support signed by the director of the Research Group.

b) Name of the director of the proposal and current classification (results of Call 894 of 2021 of Minciencias). Include the CVLac consultation link and present in an annex the letter of support signed by the director.

c) In the event that the postgraduate course to which it was admitted is accredited, the resolution of high quality accreditation of the program, issued by the Ministry of National Education, and which rests at the Universida Industrial de Santander, will be considered.

Annexes:

In order to verify and assign the points corresponding to the scientific technical support criterion of the proposal, the applicant must attach the following documents (in a single PDF independent of the proposal as such):

a) Letter of endorsement signed by the director of the Research Group supporting the proposal, (Annex 2).

b) Letter of intent signed by the professor who will direct the research work, member of the group that endorses the proposal,(Annex 2)

c)The high quality accreditation of the program to which he was admitted, issued by the Ministry of National Education is a document that the UIS has, so the candidate will not be requested.

d) For the purposes of tie-breaking criteria, it is requested to attach the electoral certificate of the last national elections in which he was a voter.

In case these annexes are not included, the evaluators will not be able to grant the respective score.

The proposal must be submitted in Arial 11-point font format; double-spaced and with a maximum length of 3000 words or 10 pages, not including bibliography and annexes.

Note. All information and documentation provided to register for the call is confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than the realization of the evaluation. The process will be covered by confidentiality and non-conflict of interest clauses.

DISABLING

Conditions

They are all those conditions of mode, time, and place, objective or subjective, antecedent or concomitant, predicable of the applicant registered to the Call or of the project submitted for consideration, which prevents the continuity of his participation in the selection process, or that, having obtained the benefit in question makes it impossible for him to enjoy it:

  • Have a master’s degree or medical surgical specialty or a degree higher than that offered in this call.
  • Have started semesters of study of their master’s program or medical-surgical specialty.
  • Have funding for the development of the master’s program or surgical medical specialty.
  • The research proposal does not respond to the foci prioritized by the department of Santander.

  • The program to which it was admitted is not part of the list of programs offered in numeral 6 of this call.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

For the call

Within the deadline established in the schedule, candidates must submit the documents in a single PDF file created in the following order:

  1. Registration form duly completed(Annex 2).
  2. Letter signed by the applicant in which he declares under the gravity of oath that he does not incur in any of the disqualifying conditions listed in numeral 5 of this call (Model candidate letter, Annex 2).
  3. The documents that allow verifying the enabling requirements described in numeral 5 of this call, as described in the Table 3.

4. Research proposal: It corresponds to a text in which the applicant presents, in a concise manner, the research that will be carried out in the development of their studies of surgical medical specialization or research master’s degree associated with any of the six foci prioritized by the Department of Santander.

Certification signed by the Legal Representative of the SNCTeI entity certifying its current or non-current relationship, (see Annex 3. List of recognized actors SNCTeI).

Deliverable that allows to accredit the CTeI product or products that you have made for the benefit of the Santander department (see Annex 4. Type of products).

Be admitted to one of the programs offered in the project proposal and have not started studies.

Letter of admission from the University to the Program you wish to take.

Submit a proposal for degree work articulated with one of the focuses prioritized for this call by the department of Santander.Present the document of the degree work proposal taking into account the content and specifications of the document established in these terms of reference.

Be registered in the national database of the System of Selection of beneficiaries for Social Programs – SISBEN, provided by the National Planning Department – DNP, at the last cut-off date.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF

Research proposal

.

Research proposal:

It corresponds to a text in which the applicant presents, in a concise manner, the research that will be carried out in the development of his studies of surgical medical specialization or research master’s degree associated with any of the six foci prioritized by the Department of Santander.

The proposal should be submitted considering the following sections:

  • Presentation page: Title of the proposal, name of the candidate, identity document number of the candidate, postgraduate program to which he is admitted and strategic focus of the Santander Department to which the postgraduate and the proposal are associated.
  • Posing the research question.
  • Justification.
  • Conceptual Framework.
  • General objective.
  • Specific objectives.
  • Research methodology.
  • Expected results and outputs of the research.
  • Contribution of the proposal with the strategic focus of the department of Santander.
  • Scientific technical support. This information should inform the following:

a) Name of the research group that supports the proposal, current classification (according to the results of Call 894 of 2021 of Minciencias), synthesis of the conformation and trajectory. Include the consultation link in GrupLac and present in annex the letter of support signed by the director of the Research Group.

b) Name of the director of the proposal and current classification (results of Call 894 of 2021 of Minciencias). Include the CVLac consultation link and present in an annex the letter of support signed by the director.

c) In the event that the postgraduate course to which it was admitted is accredited, the resolution of high quality accreditation of the program, issued by the Ministry of National Education, and which rests at the Universida Industrial de Santander, will be considered.

Bibliography: it is recommended to use the APA citation system, 6th Ed.
Annexes:

In order to verify and assign the points corresponding to the scientific technical support criterion of the proposal, the applicant must attach the following documents (in a single PDF independent of the proposal as such):

a) Letter of endorsement signed by the director of the Research Group supporting the proposal, (Annex 2).

b) Letter of intent signed by the professor who will direct the research work, member of the group that endorses the proposal,(Annex 2)

c)The high quality accreditation of the program to which he was admitted, issued by the Ministry of National Education is a document that the UIS has, so the candidate will not be requested.

d) For the purposes of tie-breaking criteria, it is requested to attach the electoral certificate of the last national elections in which he was a voter.

In case these annexes are not included, the evaluators will not be able to grant the respective score.

The proposal must be submitted in Arial 11-point font format; double-spaced and with a maximum length of 3000 words or 10 pages, not including bibliography and annexes.

Note. All information and documentation provided to register for the call is confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than the realization of the evaluation. The process will be covered by confidentiality and non-conflict of interest clauses.

DISABLING

Conditions

.

They are all those conditions of mode, time, and place, objective or subjective, antecedent or concomitant, predicable of the applicant registered to the Call or of the project submitted for consideration, which prevents the continuity of his participation in the selection process, or that, having obtained the benefit in question makes it impossible for him to enjoy it:

  • Have a master’s degree or medical surgical specialty or a degree higher than that offered in this call.
  • Have started semesters of study of their master’s program or medical-surgical specialty.
  • Have funding for the development of the master’s program or surgical medical specialty.
  • The research proposal does not respond to the foci prioritized by the department of Santander.

  • The program to which it was admitted is not part of the list of programs offered in numeral 6 of this call.
