UIS Socorro Campus is an academic and administrative unit attached to the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education (IPRED) -together with the Barbosa, Barrancabermeja and Malaga campuses- which offers face-to-face, distance and virtual training programs and outreach courses.

Its academic offerings include:

• Introductory Level for Engineering

Pre-university cycle as a requirement for access to the following engineering programs: Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Chemical and Systems. Duration, 1 academic semester.

• On-site undergraduate programs

– Engineering: Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical and Systems; the first four semesters are carried out at the Socorro Campus and the remaining 6 semesters at the Bucaramanga main campus (10 semesters in total).

– Professional academic program in Tourism: It is carried out entirely at the UIS Socorro Campus (8 academic semesters).

• Distance and virtual programs

– In the distance education modality, we offer the technical, technological and professional programs offered by IPRED, with the exception of the Plastic Arts program.

– Technical programs: Professional Technical in Agricultural Production.

– Technological programs: Agro-industrial Technology, Technology in Pharmacy Regency, Technology in Judicial Management and Criminalistics and Business Technology.

– Professional programs: Business Management and Agro-industrial Administration.

• Outreach Courses – UIS Language Institute

UIS Socorro Campus offers English courses for children, young people and adults to the university community and citizens in general.
