The Construction Materials and Structures Research Group (INME), categorized as B by Colciencias, actively participates in training activities within the undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the School of Civil Engineering and other graduate programs related to its field of expertise from different schools at the Universidad Industrial de Santander.

The group provides support and services to the construction sector in the areas of structures, geotechnics, and materials, particularly in the following research lines:

  • Structural resilience and sustainability

  • Structural analysis, modeling, and optimization

  • Construction project management

  • Construction materials

Additionally, the group is actively involved in research projects in the field of engineering education.

The group continuously seeks to contribute to new knowledge in the field of civil construction. Its primary purpose is to serve the community, the region, and the country by making contributions in academia, research, science, and technology within its areas of expertise. Specifically, it focuses on the use of materials based on sustainability principles, aiming to provide rational solutions to address the significant housing deficit in the country and to ensure more durable and resilient civil works.

The group is committed to promoting a research-driven mindset within the university community in the field of construction.
