Minciencias Classification : B

FIRST group is a research group that aims to generate scientific knowledge and train high-quality personnel through participation and exchange with other institutions to contribute to the scientific and industrial development of the country.

The FIRST Research Group will initially have the space and equipment of laboratory 309 of the EDI Research of Guatiguará, which has a rheometer, Anton Paar 302 with parallel plate geometries, cone, and plate, and a magnetorheological cell. In addition, an Ansys Fluent license is currently available and has been renewed recently with support from the School of Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Comsol Multiphysics Software is available for simulation.

On the other hand, at this initial stage, the research projects will have the support of an integrated laboratory service of the School of Chemistry. However, other teams of relevance to the group’s research, such as a colloidal mill, a tensiometer, etc., will be managed before the university’s directives for acquisition or through research projects.
