Galileo’s purpose is to transform the thinking of engineering students at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, based on the study of energy sources, the analysis of existing trends in the energy market, the discussion of public policies that determine these trends, and the formulation of prospective scenarios of energy supply and demand.

The Galileo group is able to carry out studies and consultancies specialized in:
- Implementation of energy management systems in accordance with ISO 50001.
- Estimation of renewable energy potential.
- Design of energy generation and storage systems.
- Prospective analysis of energy supply and demand.
- Assessment of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions.
- Design of systems for the capture, storage and use of carbon dioxide.
- Evaluation of alternatives for the use of waste for energy generation.
Analysis of public policies aimed at the rational use of energy and the energy transition.
