The Language Institute of the Universidad Industrial de Santander is a self-sustaining academic and administrative unit attached to the Faculty of Human Sciences. It was created by Agreement No 036, April 5, 1990 of the Superior Council. The Language Institute has provided uninterrupted services to the region for over 31 years and today it is the largest language institute in eastern Colombia.

If you wish to start in the first level of the Children and Young Adults English Program or in the General Foreign Language Programs (English, French, Portuguese, German):

Important: It is essential to present the receipt with current dates.
For Kids (7-8 years old), Pre-Teenagers (9-11 years old) or Teenagers (12-14 years old) English courses, the parent or guardian must:

Attention: Registration is only effective 3 working days after payment of the registration fee.
Paying your receipt early gives you a better chance when choosing a time slot. Remember that our spaces are limited.
Payment of registration fee, enrollment and the book can be made by the following means: • Online payment: Pagos PSE | • Payment in authorized banks: The list of banks appears on the payment receipt. (The regular payment date applies until 4 p.m.) |
General Foreign Language Courses

. Important: Students between the ages of 15 and 17 who wish to attend the General Foreign Language program may do so by presenting an authorization document from a parent or guardian. |

| The UIS Language Institute offers a discount when members of the same family in the same economic unit (the couple and their children) are simultaneously studying at the UIS Language Institute. | In order to request this discount, it is necessary to present the birth certificates of the children and a legal document that proves the union of the parents. |
Work
With us
The reception of resumes of candidates for professors and/or instructors of the UIS Language Institute is done only through calls for applications. The UIS Language Institute refrains from receiving resumes in a format different from the institutional format and outside of the established deadlines.
Once the form has been filled out, applicants will be placed on a waiting list for verification of compliance with the requirements. Once this verification has been made, the UIS Language Institute will contact those classified for the next phase.

English courses for children and young adults The English courses for children and young adults are also open to students from the 7th semester of their bachelor’s degree in foreign languages who have passed subjects related to teaching methodology. |
Important:

| Institutional Examination: Test administered by the Instituto de Lenguas UIS in order to identify the foreign language level of the aspiring Teachers – Instructors. This test evaluates the four communicative language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking, in addition to the language use section. | The exam is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages at level B2. |
