ABOUT THE
Faculty
.
The Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering has been consolidated in eastern Colombia, with undergraduate offerings of six engineering programs (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Systems) and the Industrial Design program. It also has varied postgraduate offerings in different areas of knowledge, supported by research groups. In recent years and in accordance with the University’s development plan, the Faculty has taken on the challenge of expanding the training coverage offered by its schools, with the creation of new academic programs.
FACULTY
History
.
The founding of the Universidad Industrial de Santander in 1948 marked the beginning of the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs. Over the years, the Faculty has continuously expanded its academic offer, thus strengthening professional training in the country. Since 2007, in line with the University’s development plan, the Faculty has taken on the challenge of expanding its educational reach by establishing new academic programs. Today, the Faculty has firmly established its three primary missions: teaching, research and extension, through the enhancement of academic and scientific capabilities.
MISSION AND
Vision
.
Mission:
The Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering, in accordance with the principles, mission and institutional policies, promotes the synergy and development of the affiliated schools. We recognize and value the differences and potentialities of each of them, as well as the strengthening of the relationship with the productive sector of the region.
Vision:
The Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering will be recognized in the national and international environment for excellence in the development of its missionary functions of teaching, research and extension. All levels of its academic programs will have high quality distinction as well as an innovative and comprehensive pedagogical model that educates to interpret and face the challenges of the world, as a strategic partner of the region.
