WHAT IS
Copasst?
The Joint Committee on Safety and Health at Work (COPASST) is the body for the promotion and supervision of the activities of the occupational health branch, developed at the University. It is made up of an equal number of employer and worker representatives, in accordance with the legal provisions of resolution 2013/86 and Decree 1295/94 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to promote Occupational Health activities within the organization.
The Committee with 4 hours per week and more if necessary to develop the functions of control and surveillance of occupational health management within the company. The minutes of the monthly meetings are filed in the Occupational Health area at the disposal of the competent authorities. Monitoring is carried out by the Ministry of Social Protection.
How does COPASST
Relate?
The COPASST is related to the Occupational Health Program currently OSH Management System as follows:
- The Occupational Health program currently OSH Management System and COPASST work together with the arrest, prevention and control of occupational risks.
- The Occupational Health program currently OSH Management System aims to guarantee the well-being of the people who work at Universidad Industrial de Santander, through actions that favor healthy work environments and that seek the development and quality of institutional processes.
- COPASST acts directly as a support and promotion agency for the development of the Occupational Health Program currently OSH Management System.
- COPASST indirectly monitors compliance with the regulations of the Occupational Health Program currently the OSH Management System.

MANAGEMENT
- Disseminate: rules and regulations of Occupational Health currently OSH
- Investigate: causes of work accidents and possible risk situations for people in their work performance.
- It proposes: measures that seek the exit of people in their places and work environments.
- Conducts: periodic inspection visits to job sites.
Study: suggestions from workers in occupational health currently OSH. - Monitors: the development of medical activities. Industrial hygiene and safety to be carried out by the Occupational Health Office currently SST of Universidad Industrial de Santander.
